So you’re telling me it doesn’t really work like that

Great read! This is why I don't spend a lot on suppressors lol. I want that movie quiet stuff! I have the Savage that they mention in the article (not camo though) and I have to say they are right. A bolt action. 22 with subsonic ammo is very quiet. Even quieter than a pellet gun.

But not more quiet than a pellet gun with suppressor (or LDC) as it is called.

My CO2 and PCP guns make no more than a "thump" Nice with a 840 fps rifle.

Never was able to quiet my Diana 48/52, guess the spring/piston is just too much of the racket.

Actually, yea, they are quieter, as in, you could hear a mousefart when shooting sub ammo. The only thing you hear is a "click" then "ting" or "thunk". I was shocked how quiet it was.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

I had a pellet gun with a suppressor but not the Co2 kind. I sold it or I would compare it but it seemed the .22 was quieter.

Yes, it is very hard to get truly quiet with bores larger than .22,...but you can come very very close. My Marlin CST in .357 is a hoot when I use very low power .38spl target wadcutter ammo through my suppressor. I describe suppressed .22s as "mouse fart" quiet. But these .38 wadcutter target loads are "rat fart" quiet.

Sub .300BO is also "super quiet" for what it is. All I heard standing next to it was a "poof" and then the "thwack doyng" hitting a steel plate, very hard.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day
