I got an email from my credit union saying they are closing for any walk in business until further notice.

They will let you make an appointment for the following and they also say the appointment can not last longer than 10 minutes.

a) New and used auto loan closing
b) Wire transfers
c) Safe deposit box access
d) Instant issue of debit cards
e) Fraud or other sensitive account issues
f) Other member issues as they arise

Now I have a pile of checks that I can't deposit and I can't get any money out.
I guess I need to make an appointment.
Either that or put the checks in the bathroom in case I run out of toilet paper.

Yeah, I just got a similar email from TruWest.

Do you have an ATM card? You *should* be able to deposit your checks using the ATM...shouldn't you?

I don't use an ATM.
The one and only time I ever used an ATM was in Las Vegas.
I took out $20 and the machine said I took out $200.
That was on a Saturday night.
I went to the bank Monday morning and made a complaint.
They said the ATM machines were sub contracted out a different company and I had to make my complaint with them.
I made my complaint to them and they would not refund my money.
That was with First International bank. I closed my account with them and have never used an ATM again.

My credit union said the same thing. What about the drive thru?
I went to the doctors office today to get blood drawn and they have you wait in your car until your name is called

I don’t remember what year it was when I last went inside a bank branch. You can do so much online and through an ATM now, I’ll pass on waiting in the lines.

I went to withdraw cash the other day from BoA, and I was told I can only take $2,500 cash as they have capped the daily limit because people were all taking cash out... :)

Have not deposited a check in person for years. ATM withdrawal on the other hand is fairly frequent for cash purchases a gun shows. Our credit union sent out a online message that they were closing for face to face business and drive through would remain open.

This CV-19 crap is just stifling the economy and scaring the hell out of everyone.

Hell, Ill still shake your hand, ill just use hand sanitizer before and after.

Still prefer old fashion walk up to the teller and deposit check.. little human interaction can be good fro you every now and then...

My bank is also limiting cash withdrawals. You can actually get more cash from the ATM machine than the lobby. Several branches are closing because the employees can choose to stay home and still get paid. Guess that's the advantage to working for a large company. Also lobby hours are now limited.

The machines are alot better than they used to be. The only problem I had was several years ago when they were printing lots of money and the bills were new, I got an extra $20, lol.

The machine keep track of every transaction and obviously the bills are counted, so they know when they get the final tally. It is a good idea to count it when you get it out, but it really is legitimate. Can't speak for Vegas.

Time to go to online banking or get an ATM card at least for the account you need to make deposits due to the current circumstances.

See if they will let you deposit the checks online. My CU will now let me take a picture of the front and back of a signed check with my phone to deposit it. I was a bit worried about this at first, but it has worked without a hitch so far.
