I think you should have called the cops. While I am NOT an advocate for using the police to solve all of lifes issues and think they are called to often to handle things well outside their purview, a crime was committed and that is well within their job description.

Sometimes .. it takes a village to raise a child. Mommy shielded little Antifa in training behind her skirt from the big bad man at the door, daddy probably gave him an atta boy once you left and the child learned nothing about actions have consequences.
One of the things my mother taught the boys was .. sometimes you have to do what you think is right even if its going to get you in trouble. Either way .. he never got to make the choice.
There are few things as disconcerting as hanging out in your home, what you think as a cave dwelling animal is your safe zone, and suddenly there are uniformed policemen outside knocking on the door. Yea .. if its happened to you you know what I mean. It sucks.
Dont get me wrong .. you should have been there as the complainant and complained vociferously but .. a crime was committed, damages were done that needed reimbursement and maybe even a few court visits and some community service were in order.
Then after a little Pooping in the pants by the antifa in training and a little concern from the parents that their little wonderful charge might not get into that prestigious college they were saving for because of the actions THEY took or didnt he could decide .. did I do what I thought was right even though I knew I would get in trouble or should daddy go FUK himself for being a coward and I have to find other role models.
In my youth .. I would have been made to pay for any damages by either working it off with the person I injured or working somewhere else and coming up with the money .. I would most certainly have caught an A$$ whooping second to none and privileges would have been removed.
None of these things will happen to little antifa in training so ... a few terrifying minutes of interview with the boys in blue and a couple of court dates might have helped do what his parents wont.
