Anyone know what recent F4 individual approval times are looking like? Are ATF examiners even working right now?

Long story short, I was planning to pick up a couple more cans but some work turmoil caused me to delay starting paperwork since there was a chance I may have to transfer out of state.

I switched jobs so I’m staying in AZ but now virus lockdowns are making it hard to pick up some new toys. But if nothing is moving right now I’ll just wait until this all blows over.

I decided to just go for it and get it done. I did it a couple of weeks ago, and I don’t know if it’ll take longer...but I figure it’s going to sit on their (ATF) desk for months anyway, might as well start the wait while I’m sitting in quarantine.

Such a BS process....how hard is it to cash a check, confirm a background and lick a stamp.....🤦🏼‍♂️

Only one way to find out for sure. Just do it. Every day you delay, more people are getting in line in front of your form.

This. To me it doesn't matter if its 10, 12 or 14 months. Just get it in so it can start the process.

I’ll let you guys know. I just had a Form 4 check cashed by the ATF on 3/23/20.

Thanks,
Matt

How long before that did you submit it?

I sent mine through Mr. silencer, and they send their checks, so I can’t track my own check like I did the last few times.

ATF cashes the check as soon as they get it; it's not a reliable indicator of anything, other than USPS or FedEx works.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason. I know guys who put their Form 4 in (Trust) back in mid Dec and they have their stamp. I also know people who put in their 4's back in mid 2019- still nothing.
That said, my last two Form 1's were approved in 17 days (Dec 2019). Prior to that they were only in the 45 day range.
What sucks is my first Form 4 took 88 days when they first launched eFile. Guess that was just too effective for the gov't's liking. Gotta make you earn that stamp.
My 2nd can took 9 months and my last one was just over 14 months.
It's just like having a custom built 1911- you put your money down and forget about it. Then, you are pleasantly surprised when you get the call.

I'm in the same boat, not knowing how much longer I might have in the state. Going to get in ASAP to get paperwork started. Same feeling here, my site can get a full background check done in a few weeks so I don't know what the issue is for them getting something so simple done in a timely manner.

Update if it helps anyone.

I did 2 form 1’s. Build my own can, exactly 30 days. And SBR, 26 days.

Mixed emotions. Pretty excited they both came back that quick. Then pissed I have to get the King’s approval... and paid $400 for the privilege.

Regardless, still a lot less time and effort than a form 4 :)

Ok... second SBR in and done. 18 days.

18. Days. Hell yes! Do it now while they’re pumping the form 1s out!

Lol they need to get those of us waiting months caught up. 😳 I’m up to 5 months now....about.

Three weeks from the day I hit submit on my e-form until I got my e-stamp last Friday. This was my first and because it was the quick and easy I see a form1 suppressor in the near future.
