New to the Prescott area, looking to purchase a couple of guns (CZ Shadow 2, S&W M&P9 Pro Performance Center 2.0 5" CORE, & AR Lower), can anyone recommend a dealer with reasonable prices for ordering or receiving a gun?

Thanks in advance.

Bob

If you can't find gun stores in stock locally, you could try Gunbroker online and have something shipped to your local gun shop where you can fill out a background check to complete the transaction.

I doubt anyone on the forums will sell you anything if that's what you were getting at. You set up an account on the site over a year ago, and you're just now making your first post. Seems kind of sketchy to me. Also, you say you're in the Prescott area, but your location shows as Alameda, so there's that too. Forgive me if I seem overly suspicious.

Shop around for an ffl with reasonable rates for transfer and shop

https://www.gunbroker.com/

You would find a difficult time finding guns in stock period but specific guns on a wishlist probably isn't going to happen without searching nationwide.

Expect to pay 1/4 to 1/2 more than you recall your choices going for. Those are the new "reasonable" prices and won't change soon.

they have been sending me emails with loads of AR lowers. I dont have one and dont know what is still available but its worth a look. First step is to find a receiving FFL

I'd be more worried about the arsenic in the water up there...
hope you have one of the 'good' water suppliers and buy lots of bottled water.

As you are in Prescott....you live next door to one of the major distributors in the country...Davidsons. Check out their web page....you can place orders through Davidson's that are fulfilled through one of their retailers (which are listed on the web page)...quite a few of them in your area. Here is the web page..........https://www.galleryofguns.com/

Yeah, Davidson's seems to have absolutely nothing lately. Sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com is where I ordered the guns, to be sent to Bucky O'Neill Guns. Waiting on delivery now.

Gonna try Tombstone Tactical in Chino Valley for the AR lower, see what they have.

Thanks.

Found both guns I was looking for at Sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com, and ordered them. See how Bucky O'Neill Guns does on the transfer. Progress I guess...

Finding an FFL that provides good service and is pleasant to work with and doesnt cost a fortune is like gold if your a gun guy. I have been using area 15 for the last few years and I think even if they moved further away I would continue to use them.

What's "sketchy" about asking what most do to buy guns in a town I'm new to? Has anything I've asked been in any way unlawful or deceptive? Have I asked anyone to sell me a gun? And even if I did (I didn't), if the sale was done in compliance with all state, local, and federal laws, what's making you suspicious? I hope Fry's is a bit less suspicious when I go to buy beer...

I started checking out this forum when I was looking for places to retire to. That was about three years ago. I've visited three times since then before retiring and moving here.

I'll update my profile as soon as this post is finished.

If you read my original reply, that's not what I said was sketchy. I thought it was sketchy that you set the account up OVER a year ago and are just now making your first post along with the location discrepancy of your profile.

I have seen posts eerily similar on other forums and social media lately that were asking the same questions and then tilting to who here is going to sell me a gun. Also, we're getting a slew of bot accounts for whatever reason, so there is a heightened sense of alertness to abnormalities right now. Sorry for any offense I caused, and welcome to the group.

No offense taken, I was just wondering what about my post triggered your suspicion. Not my intent to violate any laws, or make anyone uncomfortable. The account was set up, and I've been mostly lurking up until now, no sense wasting member's time with questions I won't be able to act on until I'm actually here. The move was finalized just last month, been kind of busy getting moved into the new house, so getting locations on forums changed wasn't on the radar. The profile location has been updated.

You moved here from CA?

I did.
Welcome, neighbor. Seriously, I live in Prescott too as well as some others. All good people from those that I have met in person.

Bucky is not known for being cheap with anything, even transfers. Nice people but they do take advantage of the scares.

Some people on this board are very territorial and overtly at times protective of it, new people that pop in during these climates tend to get frisked a tad, no forum is immune to it though. You seem to be one of us so I hope that you don't hold it against the forum members.
Screw both of you. If it was up to me we'd create a border around CA and keep all you idiots in there to rot in the filthy mess you created. Congratulations on doing it to AZ as well.

Simma down there Francis, I'm not from CA.

Have you even talked to the OP on the issues to know if he's one of us or not yet?
Doesn't matter if he's "one of us or not".

For every "one of us" that moves to AZ, twenty "or nots" move in.

If AZ doesn't want the state to go the way of CA, the people of AZ need to look at Californians like the plague.

Arizonans need to systematically show all Californians, regardless of what they say they are, they're not welcome in Arizona.

I've been on this rant for a good decade now, and the shooting community always comes back with, "But they're the ones escaping, the ones coming here are the good ones."

For the most part, the AZ shooting community WELCOMED Californians. Look what you have now, a state that voted for Biden. A state that put Mark Kelly in power, and he's going to take guns and raise taxes. Now shooting in the desert is going by the wayside.

Good job, nice strategy. Glad it's working out for all you idiots that welcomed the Californians in with open arms.

"For every "one of us" that moves to AZ, twenty "or nots" move in"

So, your solution is to badger those who are your allies? Here's a news flash, the "or nots" are coming one way or the other. They're locusts, a plague, pestilence, landing in a new place, ruining it, then moving to the next. I watched it happen in California (California was a nice place in 1985 when I moved there), and hoped Arizona could hold the line. Maybe it still can, who knows? If it makes you feel any better, I took my public pension and am spending that untaxed chunk of money here, depriving California of those taxes. Same with the money from the sale of my house.

I get your anger. Don't agree with your strategy, but I understand. It's counterproductive though.

Either way, I'm here, and I'm staying. If you want to help me, great. If not, that's OK with me too, I'm a loner anyway, so I won't miss your company all that much. Either way,, it's your prerogative.

For the record, I've never voted for a democrat, and I'm also not too crazy about most Republicans.

It actually does matter. You pre judged based on feelings and not facts. Heck, you instantly assumed I was from CA without even asking me if I was.

You cannot use logical fallacies as an argument, it will never work.

I'd go on some more, but since you seem well versed in being stuck on blackout drive, so I'll leave things be.

"Stuck on blackout drive", that made me chuckle.

Welcome Robert,

I just retired in March and moved here to Prescott Valley in April. I have a lot of family in CA and I have told them I am not coming to I visit for the holidays. Not only is CA starting to lockdown again and telling everyone not to have family over for Thanksgiving but I refuse to spend my money and help prop up their economy. BTW, my very small pension from the Operating Engineers Union also leaves CA every month and I am a big proponent of buy local and helping the local economy.

The guys over at High Country Guns are great people to talk to. The problem they have is like everyone else, their inventory is low due to all the panic buying. Also check out Bill’s Trading Post. They are mostly reloading supplies but last time I was there they had a decent inventory of guns for sale.

I go out to the local range at least a couple times a week so if you are ever out this way send me a message and we can meet at the range.
