new to hunting any help appreciated (Near Tucson)

My ten year old son is interested in hunting rabbits. I have taken him target shooting for the past four years on a regular basis and he enjoys it, so I would like to encourage his interest in hunting as well.

I am not a hunter, so any advice on where and how to start is appreciated. We have our AZ hunting licenses and he has a 10/22 in 22lr that he is proficient in.

We used to hunt rabbits all the time near Arivaca. Unfortunately the rabbit population has declined it seems. We usually hunt deer and javelina in the area and we were talking about how we havent seen jacks like we used to during our last hunt. Regs just came out for deer.

The rabbit and hare populations are recovering from an epidemic of hemorragic fever that swept through the state last year. That's why we have limits now.
