New features in the new forum

This is a thread to post about new features you find in the new forums. There are a TON of new features. Some may be familiar with XenForo and know about many of them, but a lot of people won't. If you find something cool, new or useful, post it here for others to check out.

My favorite new feature is dark mode. Also you can “copy/paste” your pictures in your reply.

The new features are great! Particularly, I like that we have "likes" to posts which should cut down on a lot of superfluous reaction posts.

The new classifieds are also nice. The pic on the subject is really useful. This may warrant a separate post, but I feel this also introduces an opportunity for defining some best practices with classified posts. If subject lines have a short descriptive subject and price, it makes scanning the classifieds significantly faster.

Also, the For Sale/Sold feature is cool.

I am still gradually working on things here. My goal is to make things as simple as possible. The prefixes help categorize things. Originally, I had a bunch of prefixes set up, but I didn't want it to be onerous.

I have also set up the classifieds where topic creators' posts won't bump their own threads (ie, if they are responding to a question) until a certain time period has elapsed. It's longer for registered members (7 days) and shorter for those that are site supporters.

Am also working on increasing some of the discussion areas by pulling in some RSS feeds from various locations like Ammoland, GOA, AZCDL, TFB and possibly others. I don't want to over-use that, but it will be things like firearm related news, new product reviews, legislative alerts, etc. They will go in as normal topics in various forums. Still experimenting a bit here.

Maybe not found it yet, but looking for the equivalent to the old"unread threads" drop down I used to filter new stuff I had not seen.

Might be there under a different name?

Depends what you're specifically after. Same as the old forum. New posts? New topics?

You can click on the "What's new" in the forum header (under the picture).

Well, there's more options than just that one. That's why I said it depends what you're actually looking for. Take a look through those header menus and see. There's "New Posts", "Latest Activity", "Unanswered threads". I will also add a "New Threads" under "What's New" tonight as well.
