I need some parts parkerized. Does anyone have a suggestion on who to go to?

I used to take all my stuff to Derek/AZEX :(

**STILL LOOKING**

I should probably get all my stuff set up again.

You might try seeing if someone like QD has a shop they farm work like that out too.
Van Horn does bluing but I'm not sure on park, maybe call him and ask if he can or has a suggestion?
Otherwise the only one I know used to do it, who's still in business, is Mark at Arizona Response Systems.

Thanks Tim. I'll call QD. I have a good relationship with them, if that doesn't pan out I'll call Lage then ARS.

Van Horn?

Wow, Dave Van Horn is totally new to me. Thanks for the link! I'll definitely be calling him!

I'll report back.

I'll report back.

I'll warn you, Dave in his 70's or 80's now. So he can be a bit rough, but they do world class work.

Thanks for the heads up but no worries. I'm not the warmest and fuzziest myself. I called and probably got Dave himself on the phone. The call was short and to the point, the way I like it. I'll be visiting him today.

Awesome. Glad he was able to help you!

Okay, I'm looking for someone that can do parkerizing again.

Any suggestions please let me know.

I used Smith Enterprises a couple times when I needed something parked. They usually do it on Fridays, call and ask for Andy, you don't want to deal with Ron unless you know him.

That's an understatement.

I get along with Ron but few do but they do good work. He is just ever so slightly abrasive. Ron and I barreled one of my M-14's one day and put the rest of it together in the shop, he is a wealth of knowledge on M-14's and other rifles. I worked his booth at the SAR show one year. I am kind of like him in some ways meaning I can be a asshole. They do nice parkerizing though.

They do awesome work, I would never discount the quality of the work. Ron is just a bit abrasive to people, which rubs some folks wrong.

I did an AK years ago that came out pretty good. I used the Magnesium powder from a couple D size Alkaline batteries and some Ospho solution from Ace hardware-
I can't find the exact one I used but there are several formulas out there on the net...

I used a BBQ grill and a 50 cal ammo can. I made a trough for the barrel from a piece of pipe. Used coat hangers to suspend things.

The hardest thing was keeping the temperature consistent and hot enough.
