Need alarm for doors, windows and motion detection as well as an interior camera or two. Need it to be wireless like the Simplisafe type but they aren't getting great reviews on Amazon. Most I've seen are compatible with cell phones and that is what I want.

Not interested in a high dollar system with monthly charges and will probably opt out of police monitoring. Also, at this time, not going to do any exterior cameras, etc.

Any help would be great!

Set up your own system and monitor it on your own. I have Arlo cameras that are POE (Powered over Ethernet), a wired systed (since my home was already wired) that I monitor with Konnected boards, and control everything through Samsung Smart Things...so I have not paid monitoring fees and everything runs by itself (setting/disarming) using our cell phones and the systems. There are tons of things you can do with the smart home, so security is just the start.

I use Reolink. All WiFi cameras with the outdoors camera being powered by a small solar panel and a rechargeable battery.

The whole thing is controlled through a desktop computer app or a smartphone app or both, your choice.

I can monitor from thousands of miles away, turn the system on/off, talk to people outside through the outside camera, have the cameras give out a loud alarm or not, and they can take individual pics or video, my choice.

Edited to add:

Also get notifications on my cell whenever the two cameras detect motion. Experimenting with them shows there is around a 2 or 3 second lag between when the camera sees someone and when I get the notification.

I had a Cox system for YEARS, but they kept upping the rates, and the equipment got pricey.

I switched to the RING system after a lot of contemplation (I was skeptical), and have been happy with it. It was on sale at Costco for around $200, came with a motion sensor, door and window sensors, base unit, etc and it meshed with the RING doorbell cams that I already had. I have been able to add new cameras easily and it sends me notifications ALOT quicker than the Cox alarm that I had. Also, Cox raised their monitoring rate to $34.99/mo, and RING is a yearly rate of around $100, which includes Cloud storage of video and 24/7 monitoring.

YMMV, but for a lesser expensive option, I like mine quite a bit.

well, have been looking at new camera systems, and i am to the point of not likeing the ring door bell unit, the lag time is so long and i have like an awesome wifi connectoin, and with adding a new one out in new shop, its off the chart so to speak.

i looked into the reolink as ,mentioned and did discover several of my associates have this system, wowza, amazing how easy it is to install, and maintain, and the visual is really nice, the range is awesome, so...............i ordered up a gaggle of them to place on the compound, we will see what we will see.
thanks for the directoin

I have Wyze cameras around my house. They have door/window sensors, smart outlets, etc. All Wi-fi, compact, HD video... Nearly instant response.

If you were having trouble with the wireless connection in the new shop, you may want to consider running a line out there and setting up a new wifi router to extend the wireless network even with the new cameras.

no trouble in shop, its hardwired to house connection and has a super duper wifi router, i did look at the wyze a friend had and being a troublesome individual with electronics, opted to go with this system, if it does not work to my expectations it will learn to fly away.
thanks to all for info,
i was sold on the ring at one time, but its only getting slower, and frankly i could care less about being a ''ring member and get all kinds of crap from others, most of the video they post us is stupid shiat they could resolve by getting in the face of the perps.

The Wyze sets up on your phone. You create an account, and when you want to add a camera to the account it give you a bar code for the camera to read on your phone. Done.
