Friend has one. I have shot it. Nice rifle. Surprisingly light. Prob 1.5 MOA. Good trigger. Takes M1A or AR10 mags, if you already have one of those. Because of that, the bolt action is not "slick." Not hard, but hitches as it picks up the cartridge.
He is selling it (getting out of .308) if you want me to connect you.

Doubletappp, I have no first hand knowledge of the Mossberg MVP. But I researched it, the Ruger All American and the Savage Hog Hunter when I wanted a compact, heavy profile barreled bolt gun.

It has been quite awhile, but I remember that the MVP had a well known feeding problem with some mags, my buddy's Ruger had an accuracy problem and another I can't remember, that he had to send it back to Ruger for a fix. I went with the Savage Hog Hunter because of it's floating bolt head, adjustable trigger and blind mag stock.

Hope that helps, good luck deciding.

p.s., the Savage Hog Hunter comes in 223, 308 and 338 calibers.

I have the patrol. Really like it. Feeds fine. Trigger is excellent (maybe a little to light). More accurate than I am.
When I bought it I was looking for a short light 30 cal gun with iron sight.
