For once, this is close up and personal footage NOT from a body camera, but a bystander right there who captured it in very clear agony. The bystander filming might enrage you, as he appears to be someone likely a fan of BLM or Antifa, who cheers on the deputy to shoot the guy, likely for racial reasons.

To me, it appears the deputy was justified, although he was also without many options because he's as out of shape a tub-o-lard as I am, and I have no business trying to do police work. I think he should have been physically disqualified. But regardless,...the shooting is clean, in my opinion.

I repeat,...this is not safe for work.

Where is the outrage? Old white guy walking down the street with a walking stick and murderous cop ends his life? Where is BLM marching in the street? Where are the media trucks and the grieving sister telling us how he was Jesus back amongst us? /sarcasm off

Should have shot him 20 seconds earlier in video. Cop had either gravy for brains or was Rambo in disguise for the amount of patience he had

with all the scrutiny on cops shootings, he seems to have waited as long as he possibly could have, de-escalation didn't work here so the BG was aerated.

I agree.

I’m with the guy filming,”shoot his azz”, although I did him hear him say, “Thought his azz was privileged” 🤔

I love the commentary. "Shoot his ass! Shoot his ass!" Right on.
The deputy waited longer than I would have.
The scary thing to me is how the BG did not react to being shot. Didn't flinch, didn't wince, didn't blink for a scary long few seconds. If he had been armed with a gun or knife, he could have done a lot of damage before he went down. "Modern hollowpoint ammunition" my Michelle. I am going shopping for a Desert Eagle .50.

I watched the vid a couple of times to make sure I didnt sound toooo stupid.

Here is my what is sure to be unpopular thoughts.

If you cant take that guy down without resorting to spending 6 bucks on ammo and restrain him without removing your gun from its holster then you shouldn't be a cop. Period.

If you are to fat, to old, to sick, to weak or haven't had enough "hands on" training whether its provided by your department or you seek it out on your own time and pay for it yourself .. you shouldn't be a cop.

Granted .. they keep taking tools away and I will still say that taking away their trusty night sticks was a mistake and now every idiot with a video camera makes it so there are far fewer hand on options but

The BG .. to me .. looked frail, he limped noticeably when he finally did swing the cane with a two hand grip .. I will be 100% honest even though I usually have a funny bone ... my mother using a similar tool to strike me and the brothers struck far harder than that blow. Straight truth. It would be considered child abuse now .. then it was just a woman raising 3 boys.

I am sure everyone on this board that is still somewhat healthy and especially you young cats .. hit with that blow in the middle of a tussle wouldnt have even registered it. You might have noticed the next day when you evaluated tender spots but during the take down that blow would have meant nothing to any of you young healthy guys and I am sure I could have fought through it and I am not young.

The cop is a FAT ASS. He was not confident in his abilities and the department let him roam the streets.

Not fat shaming .. you can be as large as you want .. doesnt affect me but .. then your in the wrong job and he should have been relieved of duty until he could make weight and pass a basic PT test.

Were the shooter a civilian and was old and or frail and there was a disparity of force .. sure .. shoot him.. its why you carry but .. if you are a cop and chose to enter into a profession that may require you to go hands on and tussle and you cant .. you should be fired.

Im 58 and half the size and 1/3 strength I once was. I see NOTHING in that video that scares me enough to shoot. He would have been lumped up but breathing.

My buddies who joined the NYPD during the prime time crime numbers went in when they were about 23. They retired when they were mid 40's. They were the last class that had to pass a basic weight lifting test to be accepted and had some basic boxing in the academy. One of them did almost all his time in Anti Crime the whole stint in some of the most FUKED up parts of NYC.

You can still lay some decent whoop ass in your mid 40's .. if you age out or eat out that is just the natural order. They both retired with VERY nice packages.

That Cop in the video should be fired .. not for the shoot because they will justify that but because he is not fit to be a LEO. Just because you can shoot someone .. doesnt mean ya should.

This is more woke bull$hit that got someone killed. Lower the standards so no one is left out and no shaming. Cops, firemen, military and a few other vocations need to be exempt from "woke."

Like athletes they need to stay in condition enough to do the job they signed on for or your out. The standards were standard for a reason .. sorry if you are a female or weak male or fat ass and cant meet the standards .. not the job for you

Guy might have been a piece of $hit and society is better without him but nothing in that video said that he needed to be shot by a young healthy cop who has some hands on training .. oh wait .. it was a fat a$$ who had no options.

Hate to use the Term "back in my day" because I hated it as a young man and its indicative of the aging process but .. back in my day .. if you were a young healthy male and needed a weapon to take out THAT dude .. you would have been considered a PU$$y .. cane or no cane

That is the second video that bore that out. I had a similar feeling when I saw the Pennsylvania neighbor shooting. Bullet tech my booty .. I will stick to my blasters as long as I am physically able to shoot them.

As a big fat dude over 40, I have to agree that the cop probably should have tried some other method. I would have personally not drawn my weapon for an old man with a stick. That said, sure looked like a justified shoot to me.

Mind you, I'm not a cop and have never been a cop. Don't know the whole situation and probably never will.
