Pic below that is posted by game n fish with the story.

Fraking bastards. They wasted the meat and took the trophy. This occurred in late August, if you were scouting the area at about that time and remember anything.

The elk was located west of Forest Road 153 near Point and Javelina water catchments. The poacher left the meat to waste

I'm assuming it's the one in the pics released from the story as it was by a water catchment and had game cams.

I've never even seen an ELK that big in the wild. Hell, I dont think I've seen one taken on tv that big, point/trophy wise. Rare in a non high fence area. Shit rare there too.

Gotta add.

That kinda trophy, if it's the one in all the pic from game n fish press release, is like stealing a half million dollar Ferrari. Everyone will be looking for it so how do you mount and/or display it?

What a shame.
I hope they catch them.
There is big money in a set of antlers like that.
There are people that will pay $50,000 and more to hunt an elk like that.

Poachers will kill anywhere at anytime.
I remember years ago when someone sneaked into the Desert museum and killed a big horn sheep for the head.
They ended up getting the head back but I can't remember if the poachers were ever caught or not.
I believe the head was found in Las Vegas.
