Any Marlin experts here?
Did Marlin ever make a carbine version of the Glenfield 25?
I came by a 1981 vintage Glenfield 25 with a barrel that is 18” long.
I’ve not seen one with a short barrel like that before and was wondering if it was a factory option or if a gunsmith shortened a standard barrel.
I’m thinking this may have been a gunsmith’s project since the trigger measures a consistent 2 ½ lb.
Yes, it’s a good shooter.

I can tell you the barrel on mine is 16.5" now. Couldn't tell you what it was before. But, pretty sure they removed more than 1.5".

The Glenfield model 25 is the Marlin model 80 with swivels.
The Marlin Model 80 was made from 1934-1971.
It was a bolt action and had a 24 inch barrel.
They also made the Model 80C, 80 DL, 80 E, 80G
I am not sure of specific barrel lengths and years on those.

Marlin made three different versions of the model 25.
They made a bolt action in 22 and 22 mag.
They made a smooth bore bolt acton in 22 caliber.
They made a slide action in 22 short.
