I am building my first AR-15 and need some advice. I bought a stripped lower and am looking at a lower parts package without the fire control group. I want to get a trigger that is good quality without breaking the bank. I'll be honest I know very little about it but I am determined to learn. Maybe I can borrow some of your knowledge in the meantime. Do you know of a good quality trigger that is a killer deal? Or at least point me in the right direction to research? Thanks in advance. I really need help with this one.

I have a stock palmetto trigger you can have if you just want a good stock trigger.

I replaced it wit their flat match grade trigger and it rivals timney or gissele I have had in any of my match ar15s and at a decent price

Larue MBT. Less than $110 shipped, massive improvement over a stock trigger. Get the flat trigger face.

Looks like the Larue MBT-2S is at around $80 right now and has excellent reviews. Thanks for the tip guys. It is the front runner so far.

Just buy one. Larue shipping times can be a little misleading...it will say "in stock", but it won't ship for two-three weeks. Don't know why they do it that way....but it's just how they do it. But you usually get a bottle of Dillo Dust, a can opener, hat, stickers, and a pocket Constitution...Larue loves to give away SWAG (sometimes it varies what you get, but it's always a little something extra).

It's such a good trigger at a great price that as soon as my first order arrived, I installed it and then then proceeded to order two more just to have in my parts bin for my future builds. Again, I recommend the flat faced trigger.

i would agree larue does give you stuff. In fact Im out of the dust, I may need to order something just for that

Another vote for Larue, have 6 or so and all are great. I actually have an extra new in container I'd sell for $90 which is what I have into including shipping.

Also if you order don't expect much if any swag, they been toning it down.

Used Geissele, or wait till they go on sale. They'll run one July 4th, if they have anything in stock to sell.

Buy once cry once.

I've got Geissele triggers, Larue triggers, Elfmann triggers, Bix'n Andy triggers, TriggerTech....just dropped by Timney today and grabbed another Calvin Elite 2-stage for my Bergara B14R.

Sure, my Geissele SD3G trigger is awesome...but my Larue does the same thing for half the price. $240 vs $90 is a big difference. Is the SD3G $150 better? Yes. Is it needed for a basic AR? No.

OP's is looking for "...a trigger that is good quality without breaking the bank." The Larue MBT fits the bill perfectly.

Would like to try one someday, that is a damn good price. And makes sense if I was outfitting multiple ARs

I run a geissele ssa-e and the sd3g and they are both awesome. Picked them up a couple years ago when they went on sale.

Yep, as mentioned they offer a great (literal) bang/buck ratio. Just be aware that they are two-stage. If you are simply looking for a "good" mil-spec single stage, you might look at the ALG QMS, which you should be able to find for $45 or so. Or, if you haven't purchased an LPK yet, White OAK has them with the QMS included: https://www.whiteoakarmament.com/enhanced-lower-parts-kit-w-alg-qms-trigger-included.html and their LPK parts are top quality.

Also, if you haven't sourced a barrel yet, both LaRue and White Oak barrels are excellent.

I was actually looking into barrels and BCGs. I have been given great advice so far. I apreciate being pointed in the right direction.

My choice as well for a good relatively an inexpensive rigger.

I have several of these MBT triggers and they are good.

I have everything from $280 Geissele two stage triggers to $60 ALG.
The best one, and my favorite, is the LaRue. Trigger shoe is wide and responsive and the break is very light and crisp. Reset is perfect for those who like to ride the trigger.
I’ll take one over the SSA-E anyday.
