Just my opinion. The price for the
gen 2s is a clearance price with the rebate. The rotating barrel is what sold it for me. I don't have to remove my RMR to fold it.

Absolutely. The Gen3 is what I want. I would buy it today if I could find it. But I'm not going to drive all over the valley or make 100 phone calls to find one.

I will have to wait until Sportsman's has them available agian and hope I can buy it at the time.

That is about $30 cheaper than the price listed currently at Sportsman's Warehouse. However, it is a wash since you won't have to pay the FFL fee if purchased from Sportsman's.

Not advocating for them, just mentioning the current pricing/availability. Was curious if they were still showing as available after reading thom's above post.

Edit: When I checked before posting it showed a pick-up date of 29 Feb. Five minutes later it shows them unavailable.....

Yep, still showing unable to ship to FFL of otherwise order online and out of stock in store.

I rather not pay an FFL fee and I personally have no issues with Sportsman's. But yes, I understand the store has changed.

They are back in stock on Sportsman's website. Placed my order tonight. I couldn't resist. ETA is Thursday and I can't wait.

Now, who has the best deal on 33rd mags?

Anyone have suggestions for a compatible 9mm muzzle brake/comp/flash hider?

Been out of the gun scene for awhile. Not sure who has what these days.

Interesting... Thanks for the link.

I've owned the gen1 and gen 2 and will probably need to get the gen3. For those that have a gen 2, i fixed the optics problem with a spring loaded door hinge, so when I wanted to close up shop, I just "opened" the hinge with the optic mounted and folded away. The great thing about it was it zeroed in every time I went to use it.

Limper, what type/brand of backpack do you have? It looks like it was made for the rifle.

Thom,

The backpack is the Voodoo Tactical "Hydro Runner/Recon Pack". And yes I bought it because it happens to be just big enough for the Sub2K. Not made for it but happy coincidence. The current price is kinda steep ($150). I bought mine a few years ago at the Superstition Mountain Mystery 3 gun match. The Voodoo Tactical guy always shows up with new gear and sells thing at 50%. At the time the pack went for $120 so I bought mine for $60. It is well made like all the other Voodoo Tactical stuff I have. Hell I have been using the same rifle bag for 15-18 years (2-3 matches per month). It is kinda beat up but still serviceable. $150 is a bit steep for a bag but it is well made, includes a 2-liter hydration pack, and is comfortable to wear. And it fits the Sub2k just right. I'm sure the Voodoo Tactical guy will get more of my $$ next month at this years Superstition Match (Mar 15-17 @ Rio Salado). Last year I took advantage of the 50% deal and I bought IFAK and handgun bags as gifts.

I did put a wash rag in the bottom of the backpack to cushion the Kel-tec from impacts if I dropped it or set it down hard. You can see it in the picture of the open pack in my review.

Man, you guys and all your tactical shit. :o A padded violin case works just fine for many smaller weapons, and, if you managed to forget and leave it in the vehicle visible, all they see is a violin, not a gun. I carry many of my short things in a tennis racket case, longer stuff in a guitar case, and guess what, I can find them super cheap many places.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

Clyde
