One only has to look at the long history of it to learn it is racist and classist. Anyone who disagrees doesn't know their history. It is a shame how the 2A orgs don't hit on this history as much as they should.

Recoil magazine had a series of articles dealing with this subject that was actually really good (the magazine is pretty hit or miss on good content, but they nailed this series.) They were each written from a different perspective (race, sex, orientation) - articles by Maj Toure (African American / black rifles matter,) Ashley Hlebinsky (female firearms expert/historian,) Chris Cheng (Gay, Asian, Top Shot, Comp shooter, etc). Good reads for those who aren't in the ignorant "guns are only for crusty white male fudds" mentality.

I will take 5 gay Chris Chengs over 100k idiots who can't wrap their head around our freedoms and rights aren't dependent on what orientation, religion, or race you are.

And that is just one wonky magazine. I would love to see this subject matter in the forefront of the defense of our 2A rights - these orgs just need to get a clue and jump on it.

Not really sure I get his connection. I follow that gun control and its use of labeling "dangerous groups or people" as being subject to restrictions can be race based .. I just dont get his connection to the Rahimi case.

A group of black people whether they be slaves or freed slaves labeled as dangerous because of the color of their skin or their political motivations is one thing. While there may be some among the group that are dangerous you are labeling the whole group as dangerous based on Race or color. Got it. Bad.

Rahimi is a piece of shit. There is no doubt that he was dangerous as he in fact did dangerous things.

On December 1, after selling narcotics to an individual, he fired multiple shots into that individual’s residence. The following day, Rahimi was involved in a car accident. He exited his vehicle, shot at the other driver, and fled the scene. He returned to the scene in a different vehicle and shot at the other driver’s car. On December 22, Rahimi shot at a constable’s vehicle. On January 7, Rahimi fired multiple shots in the air after his friend’s credit card was declined at a Whataburger restaurant."

Add to that a seemingly self confessed case of Domestic violence and ... he just isnt the poster child for the 2A I want to see and I personally dont see the connection to racism the lawyer was trying to make.

Real tenuous connection between Restricting gun ownership to groups you "DEEM" dangerous and a guy who was an actual danger. What am I missing?
