Looking for a good wired home security camera set up. Any recommendations? Thanks

I researched the heck out of this about a year ago. I ended up going with Annke products. They work well but I’m not sure that others aren’t just as good. I’ve got 14 cameras on a 16 channel NVR. Lots of fun crawling the attic for a week running CAT-6e cables.

I have a Swann system that is about 7 years old and has held up pretty well. I do think I will upgrade this fall with new cameras and DVR. I will try to find a system that I can use my existing cabling to save that torture of running wires.

Think about your infrastructure (installation). WIFI aint cool for multi-camera Hi-def images.

I have coax pulled from a very olds system with 9 cams and have been able to nurse that through to 4K LOREX cams and NVR. I plan to use the exiting coax for pull cables to switch to IP cams. Much more flexible.

You may want to look at Verkada systems or Hanwha.

Verkada doesn’t require an in prem dvr/nvr. Just a POE switch. Hanwha are basically bulletproof.

Both have cloud based access so you can easily view your cameras remotely without having to open firewall rules on your home network.

We run the Annke system at the shop and it has worked pretty well so far. Our original DVR went out so we swapped to the Annke DVR and so far so good. They also have an app that makes it really easy to view and use.
