FYI
Ordered powder through the hodgon website on June 3 and got my, it's shipped" message today June 10.

7 days with a weekend in between.... Not freagin bad and no rapey prices!

Check there often. They usually have something.

Keep in mind shipping and hazmat so make the order worth it or do a group order with your buds but be fast.

I received notification from another place and hesitated 10 minutes ... Gone!

Still can't find primers. Where are you finding them?

There were probably around 25K primers for sale at the gun show last Saturday and Sunday at prices from $80/K to $250/K

Cant find any at non rapey prices on primers but they pop up fairly frequently on the local for sale boards at between $100 and insanity but its pretty regular to see them at about $100. Next time I see a listing for 1000 at $100 I am going to pick it up. I have plenty but .. can you really have enough.

Considering what a case of 1000 rounds of virtually any caliber costs now .. $100 for 1000 primers is fine. Just saw a big name online retailer with a "SPECIAL" ... $560.00 for a case of 9mm.

Yes, I can find them on the boards. Always at least 100/k. I guess your point is valid when it's $0.60/rnd for 9mm.

Had a chat with a guy selling his company's reloads at the Gun Show. He tried to buy my primers and offered twice what I paid for them, which is way less than they sell for now.

Anyhow, he said something I considered forward thinking on his part. He said he was getting a little worried about selling his reloads before the price drops enough that he'd have to take a loss on them.

He obviously sees that prices are dropping pretty quickly.

With real quick and dirty math and not counting the brass a case of 1000 rds of 40S&W using primers at $100 for 1000pcs is costing me time and about $240. I like to shoot and have been going pretty regular.

I have cut back on how much I shoot per visit but probably have been visiting more than I used to.

I collected up a bunch of brass and I get more than a few uses out of them each.

38 Special uses a touch less powder but is probably costing me close to that as well.

Consider "IF" you can find factory ammo this is about average

and you have to add shipping and hazmat ...makes cracking the wallet for $100 per 1000 primers more palatable .. Sucks .. but .. still a bargain if you like to shoot.
