According to the Times, Caputo also warned Trump's followers to be prepared for an armed insurrection, predicting the president would win but that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden would refuse to concede the election.

"When Donald Trump refuses to stand down at the inauguration, the shooting will begin,” Caputo said. “If you carry guns, buy ammunition, ladies and gentlemen, because it’s going to be hard to get.”

The top spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services is taking a leave of absence, the agency announced Wednesday, days after he promoted dangerous conspiracy theories during a Facebook Live video.

In the video, first reported by The New York Times, Michael Caputo, HHS' assistant secretary for public affairs, charged that scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention "don't want America to get well." He also urged supporters of President Donald Trump to load up on ammunition in preparation for a violent left-wing rebellion if the president wins re-election.

Caputo also said in the video that he has been having health issues and that his "mental health has definitely failed."

In the announcement, HHS said Caputo "has decided to take a leave of absence to focus on his health and the well-being of his family."

I feel like I'm experiencing deja vu every 4 years. The language is almost identical. "Ammo and guns are going to be SO hard to get!"

The only reason why is because people keep saying it's going to be hard to get, so people freak out lol. Covid is an anomaly; not something very common. It's good to remain vigilant and be well informed, but I swear any time anything happens anywhere, people act like it's the end of days.

I'd be more worried if I lived in a place like Portland or Seattle. Maybe also if I still lived in OC, CA... but I left that shit hole as soon as I finished school and moved back here. I doubt we'll see anything like what some of these more hardcore left wing areas are seeing.

The trick is reminding all these people who are moving here from those shit holes WHY they left in the first place.
