When the minimum wage went up, the fisherman in the Pacific that were catching tuna did not get the minimum wage like the rest of the U.S. I think it was in a "territory" of the U.S. His companys profits soared because he wasn't paying the minimum. She had a lot to do with that.

They were probably paid by net profit percentage. Ever watch Deadliest catch?
