With all the serious and profound posts on this board, after polishing off the Marlin 60 I won here, I just felt I had to share!!! :dance:

I put a fixed 36 power scope on, for shooting gophers and the the flies that sit on the dead gophers. :D I put on an attachment for a quick release by pod. And lastly, I stocked up on some Aquila 60 grain subsonics.

Well, gentlemen, I just got to tell you, I haven't had so much fun with a weapon in a long time!!! I zeroed in at 75 yards, and found no need to adjust when going all the way down to 20 yards!!!

THIS IS A ONE HOLE SHOOTER, GENTS!!!

IT MAKES ME GIGGLE THAT NO MATTER WHAT I PUT IN THE CROSSHAIRS,... IT IS GONE!

I hope someone else knows what I am talking about!
It is just too much fun to keep to myself!!!

How far are you setting those golf balls, Brandon?

This thing shoots so accurately it almost becomes boring from a lack of challenge.
Which is probably a good thing, or I would be going through a lot more ammo!

I have a micro groove barrel on my 444 lever action, I find it nice to see the micro groove rifling still being used. All the early Marlin advertisements claims from decades ago, about the micro groove rifling being easier to clean, produce higher pressures/velocity, and added life expectancy, are true and with this latest example, obviously alive and well!!!
 
It was like 50 paces, but that was kinda through/around brush. We were in the desert around Wickenburg.

I have a Marlin/Glenfield Model 20 with the same rifling. When I had the barrel shortened and threaded, they commented on it being a little more difficult because of all the lands/grooves.

My favorite is the top one. Carbine length?

They come and go... I've always loved Marlin 22s. My first gun was a 795, it's gone though. :( I also have the above mentioned 20, and a Model 25 in 22MAG. I'm on the hunt for a 336 in 30-30, and a 1894 in 44MAG...

The top one I've had for years. When I go shooting with friends that one ALWAYS goes. My friends end up shooting it all day instead of whatever they brought. So, when I come across them, I'll buy'em, clean'em up, then sell'em to my friends.

I sold two of those to co-workers last week, so I only have 3 right now. The top, the stainless, and the bottom one. The bottom one is an early one w/o the bolt catch.
 
At one time I had pre-safety Marlin 336's in 357 mag, 44 mag and 444.
I liked the quality of them all, but, I was very disappointed in the ballistics of the 357 and the 44 so I sold them off. The 444 is an entirely different situation,... don't see letting that one go anytime soon.
 
Only thing I don't like about the Marlin 60's is the factory wood stock will usually crack around the back of the receiver. I have seen it happen on 3 different Marlins. One was a stainless steel version with a beautiful cherry wood looking stock on it.
 
The only thing I don't like, is the trigger,... but, I spend more on custom triggers than a new model 60 costs,... and, even as bad as it is, I can put round after round into one hole!

I chose the model 60 too.
I've only put about 20 rounds thru it
Since I have a red 10/22 and a blue Savage A17, I was going to put the 60 in a Boyd's ambidextrous evolution, in my grandkid's favorite color, and give it to her in a few years when she's 7 or so.
....ummmm....I hope she likes to shoot

 
Yup, it was me! Put a hundred and fifty plus through it, not normal for me, but it is just too much fun! I got the one with the cheapo wood stock, actually, not bad at all.
