Hi All,

Looking for another handgun. I have a few options I’m looking at.

Looking for a 9mm, MOS cut, threaded barrel.

Most of these will need to have the threaded barrel added.

Glock 48 MOS
Glock19/45 mos
P365XL
FN509T

Any opinions on the above are appreciated, good and bad. And if there’s something else I should look at I’m open to other options.

I already have a carry, this would be mostly home defense, range fun, maybe carry.

Thanks!

After seeing firsthand how bad the MOS is (sheared the screws off and launched the RMR about 10 feet front of the shooter), I’d recommend getting a standard Glock model of your choice and have it milled.

Cabela's has (or at least *had*, as of 4PM today) the FN509 "Viper" package, with Vortex Viper attached, threaded barrel, and extra 24 round mag...for $999.

@Pscipio - whoa that’s terrifying. Good to know.

@bullzaye - that’s a good deal with a red dot already on it. Appreciate the heads up, I didn’t know there was such a package for the FN.

I was about to dump a 48, and saw some FB post about a company that put some useful stuff on it.
They added an optic, tall sites, and a threaded barrel to give it G17 length, and with the 15 round Shield mags, it's a down sized 17....Spectacular
Already bought the barrel
So mine will be off to the machine shop soon, for some new life.
I wish I could remember that name....

The MOS line needs a generation or 2 before its ready. Too many issues. Having a standard Glock milled for a specific optic or adapter plate is the way to go if you are looking for optics.

The Shield mags for the the 48 are a game changer. 15 round flush magazines for the 48 turns it into a slim profile 19. At that point the decision between the 2 is a matter of concealability and personal preference.

Unfortunately, the Shield Arms mags are as rare as hens teeth or sweet nothings whispered from the lips of az1182, whichever you prefer.....

I didn’t know about the shield mags. That could be a game changer for me. I like that the 48 could be concealed if I want and have a decent capacity.

Pro2a- is there somewhere local that does machine work for optics? I looked for taller sights and couldn’t find any.

I appreciate everyone’s input.

Anyone have thoughts on the sig?
