I am not sure if this is the correct area to post this but here it is. I wanted to share a picture of the grips my late father made for me. Years ago a friend of my fathers had cancer and not long to live. He was a Jewelry maker and many years ago legally purchased a section of elephant ivory. He gave my father the last of the tusk he had left. Naturally it was round shaped. These are the grip panels my father hand made for me. Think how much work it took to do this. Made for a Colt obviously.

The problem with things that nice is that they're too nice to use.

They'd work great on a Barbecue Gun though.

Yep. Definitely a BBQ gun. I have a 3rd gen Colt SAA with ivories and that’s the only time it sees daylight.

Nice!
Love ivory!
I have some “Maui Hooks” 4 of which are ivory. 2 are fossilized Walrus, one is mammoth, one is Sperm Whale. It has gotten very hard to find them made of any ivory.
I would love to get a set of ivories for one of my handguns, but even better is getting a set with a good backstory like gifted from your dad.

👍🏼
