That Guy said:...buy an AMERICAN rifle, made in AMERICA, by AMERICAN workers.
You cant’t make America great again with a FOREIGN PRODUCT!
The "Rifleman's Rifle" the Winchester Model 70 is now made in Portugal by Portuguese (in a Belgian-owned factory).
Affordable Weatherby's are made in Japan Howa's, (but I think the glossy high end one's might be US made.)
Brownings are all made in Japan (except maybe the BAR that might be Portugal) (the most prolific inventor in American history, John M Browning, also invented offshore outsourcing).
Remington's quality went way down during their leveraged sellout and the whole company disintegrated under 2 bankruptcies and lawsuit (which was itself in violation of federal law). No idea if they will ever come back to making nice looking M700's again.
TC is gone (Icon, Venture, oooh that one was ugly)
What does that leave? Ruger? they make good hunting rifles.... but other than the No1 (not a bolt action) they just don't seem to be the classic the M70 was/is.
Savage? they usually have the best accuracy reports in the gun magazine reviews and by far the ugliest bolt and barrel nut.
Mossberg? a low end rifle from a shotgun company
some niche makers of PRS chassis rifles? This new Springfield Armory almost fits in that category...
hundreds of makes of AR-15's?
About the only American option left for very elegant looking sporter-weight bolt actions like this Sauer are some very expensive custom makers....
(of course for most of us that above Sauer is a very expense rifle)
or did I miss some?

do you mean 7.5 Swiss? 7.5x55 (not listed on the available calibers in the article) Swiss = Switzerland the landlocked one between France/Italy/Germany/Lichtenstein
or 6.5 Swede? 6.5x55? Swede = Sweden the one way up north between Norway/Finland with a long Baltic coast.
The 6.5x55 is my favorite hunting rifle caliber, that's the one I'd want too!
You'll probably have to find one on at one of the larger wholesalers (Bud's for instance) or GB or GI and have it shipped to an LGS.
shoot good!
