Couldn't make up stuff like this.

The bigger take away - Robert Nioa. Look him up and ask yourself how long will Barretts still be sold here? To civilians?

How many guns are allowed to civilians in Australia, New Zealand?. Because controlling interest / money has never dictated policy.
"If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got."

Heads in sand everywhere.

Foreign companies still line up to sell their guns in the US market. Probably a third of all weapons sold here were manufactured in countries that wouldn't let their own citizens own the same thing. I wouldn't worry about it too much .

The discussion about the Australian owners is beside the point. Read the article about how Barrett built his rifle, and got it to market. Hell of a story! Hell of a man!

(And remember, Barrett refused to sell his products to government agencies -- specifically California law enforcement agencies) who did not respect their citizens' rights to keep and bear his products.)

True american success story that would never happen in any other place in the world. Probably never happen here again either. I was captivated by the Barrett from the first time i saw it. Caswells im mesa years ago had one sitting on there glass gun counter. I saved money and eventually worked a deal to buy it. Dont shoot much but sure am glad to own it. I was once at a gun show wearing a Barrett hat. A vendor asked me if i had one. I said yes. He said what do you think about. I said i like it. He said son i like my mother but i Love my Barrett. That struck me funny.
