I know the plastic gun revolution has happened but

Just wanted to give a little heads up. I bought some extra factory mags for my 229 and they are great but they were near $50 each.

My 226 being a CPO came with 2 used mags so I wanted to buy some new ones. Decided to try the Mecgar. Man are these nice. Slick as hell with the anti friction coating, the follower is smooth as silk and they hold an extra round but only add 1/8 inch to the overall length of the grip.

$25 bucks at Greg Cote. If your in the market .. check em out. I felt mag'ed up for the 229 but may try the 14 round mecgar on his site I am so happy with the ones I just got.

Yeah, I’ve given that site a lot of money in the past.

A go-to for some hard to find mags at reasonable prices.

He always has great pricing even at times where other outlets are raising them and he ships same day for a flat fee. I remember getting mags from him for a witness during the last gun rush and he was still holding his line on them when everyone else more than doubled their price. Good guy, good business and I do really like these mecgar mags.

I am sure most everyone here already has his site but just in case

Great vendor. Had some issues with a Baby Rock .380 mag. He had a replacement in the mail before I even returned the bad one.

I've never heard of this site before, but I'll definitely be buying magazines there in the future. I would be buying some today, but I think you bought that last of the P226 magazines I need. :(

Yup the last "genuine" sig mag I bought for the 229 which came in Sig packaging and was about $50 was stamped made in Italy. Cant imagine there are 50 magazine makers in Italy. That one however came with the matte rough finish.

I like the Magazines from Mecgar better. I dont sweat mag capacity but .. meh .. I will take the 1 more round and the slicker overall performance.... and $25 savings!

I'm looking for 9mm, so I guess I can't blame you.

Yes, you can get notified when back in stock. Fortunately, I'm not in a huge rush.

I only have a few Sig factory mags but a whole lot of MecGar ones. Just as good or better than the labeled Sig mags since they are all made in the same factory. That anti-friction coating really is slick. I have a mag pouch adjusted pretty tight for my MecGar mag and a factory finished mag fits so tight you can hardy pull it out. gregcotellc.com is the place to buy for a lot of different mags.

I'll vouch for both Greg Cote, and MecGar.

MecGar is the OEM magazine supplier for a number of companies. I know CZ uses their magazines, I belive Beretta does as well.

There's a guy that makes most of the Phoenix Gun Shows who sells the MecGar 226 Mags for $25.00 each. Don't know if he still goes as I haven't gone to a Phoenix Gun show in a while.

That's correct in fact I just bought 2 MEC GAR mags for my Czech made CZ 75B and previously bought 1 for my W German P226. Great mags :D
