Nor am I. Hate grip safeties.

--------------------

Interesting,.... being I cut my teeth on 1911's, I like grip safeties, very much.

In fact, I would prefer a 1911 with a grip safety and NO THUMB SAFETY. Much quicker, truly automatic without any muscle memory practice and as natural as drawing your weapon,... never have to have a second thought as to it being accidentally disengaged, or not, like a thumb safety,... imo.

I wish my Shield45 had one, like Springfield's XDs.

But,... if wishes were flying cows,... we'd all be in deep shiat!

It's a matter of the size and geometry of my hand. Occasionally I don't have the grip safety pressed in enough and the gun doesn't go bang, and because of this I don't trace it.

I never heard of anyone else with the same problem until I watched an episode of Shootout Lane a few months back. Turns out the President of Clark Custom guns, Logan Clark has exactly the same problem and to solve it he extends the grip safety another 3/8" or so.

I could do that, or pin the safety, but I've come up with pretty much the same thing in a Sig P220 SAO .45 ACP so I stick with that.
