In the winter I rarely wear anything more than a sweatshirt up top so its AIWB but all my handguns are DA/SA. I too have some reservations about carrying strikers AIWB. Just makes me a bit nervous. If your into it .. good on you but its not for me.
In the summer its almost always a strong side OWB with a light shirt over top but sometimes an IWB and I found the Dracula technique works great with a light shirt.. Shirt keeps the sun off my skin and covers my gun. My times AIWB and from strong side are nearly identical
I think his times on AIWB would have been much improved but he had a TON of unnecessary movement on his draw.
For a time I was shooting once a week with a board member and I learned a lot working out with him. One of the pearls I got from him that I still stick to today is that every time you put your gun on or go to take it off is a good opportunity to practice your draw stroke. Sooo .. when I put my gun on regardless of placement on my body I practice 4 or 5 draw strokes and when I go to take it off I do the same.
I add laser draw practice at home and am allowed to practice from the holster at the range I attend so I do a fair amount of practice. Nope .. not going to win any competitions but .. Ive gotten pretty quick from the positions I carry in ... for an old guy. My best times ever are a touch under 1.4
I have always wanted to try a shoulder rig and before I die .. I am going to make one for my GP100.
