Anyone been there in a bit and have thoughts. I remember going to some amazingly fun AZS group shoots there.

What a blast! Probably some 10+ years ago. It was a bit shoddy but good company. I still have some pix and maybe videos.

I read they revamped the place and I was considering a ride down with the wife on a weekday.

I haven't been there since last year, so don't know about upgrades. If you are going to go, weekday is the time.
You might see some sketchy gunhandling there, so be prepared to smile and graciously ask people to keep their guns pointed downrange, even when unloaded, and not to handle guns, even when unloaded, when folks are downrange fiddling with targets.

I've not been there, but heard horror stories about idiots continuing to fire downrange as other folks attempt to set or retrieve targets.

Ekkkkk . Guess I won't be going. Was trying to tie a nice motorcycle ride with some shooting but I think I will pass.

Oh, no, definitely you should go.
You never know who is going to show up. There is a chance that you might run across some experts who have been mishandling guns for the past 50 years, but it's not hard to handle. When somebody calls for a ceasefire, take charge (with a smile) and say something like, "The rule is that we don't touch guns while people are downrange, is that right?"

There are multiple bays, with different distances. You can always grab an empty bay, bring tables and chairs etc... this will minimize mixing with the idiots. I'll be there with some friends on Wednesday around 10 am.

Shoot there frequently (since I live in Casa Mierda). Really nice range sometimes used by dumbass CG'ers. I usually use a side bay instead of the main range

I go down around there frequently. It looks nice to me, just bring friends.

Was down that way today, but not at that range. A friend shot at Elsy Pearson this morning and was all alone on the 50 yard range. He had a good time.

Yes, have been in the same situation down there. "Do not handle your weapons during a cease fire". Standard rule for any gun range. Why some people don't know that is beyond me. Like someone else said. The main range has a cover and 8-10 concrete benches but you will need to bring chairs to use them. Range is marked out to 300 yards if I remember correctly, maybe further and there is always the steel plate up on the mountain. Shorter shooting bays are to the left and right of main bay, no benches. I liked it a lot better back before they put up the fence separating the parking area. Back then you could park right behind the benches. Twenty foot walk to your vehicle.
Here's some pics from a few years ago at the bench area to give you an idea.

Below- Notice things kind of cleared out when the .338 Lapua Mag came out. Lol!

Below- Looking straight down range. The steel plate is up there on the mountain. Hard to see without glass.
