As title says, looking for a true gunsmith / machinist that can rechamber a barrel. Prefer relatively local. Thanks in advance.

There is more work "rechambering" and setting an existing chambered and fitted barrel back, than cutting a new barrel from a blank.

LOL? This should be good.

LOL because we were all thinking it was a rifle barrel.

Don’t include any details at all…just the bare minimum of details so we can’t fully answer your question.

XJ: No. Currently there are none on the market. Wanting a PDW thats different.
Quiet: I asked a simple question. If you know a place, thank you. If you don't then scroll by. Details are none of your concern.

I have a source out of state that can. Was trying to support local business.
To those that tried to help, thank you.

Quiet is right.

First, it would be cheaper/easier to just swap barrels. Have a multi caliber gun and able to return to factory config if you want to sell.

Second, you have to replace the entire slide as the breechface dimensions are different between those two calibers.

If your slide breechface is cut for a 9mm round, a .357 sig round won’t fit without altering the slide.

.40 and .357 sig are the same breechface dimensions.

Then it is going to be very difficult to provide you with any recommendations. Good luck on your Secret Squirrel Mystery Project.

So asking for a reputable gunsmith to rechamber is secret squirrel? I know reading is difficult and just answering a simple question is hard but damn, You do realize that all that was asked is for a gunsmith. Are you one? Are you a machinist? No? I bet when u get pulled over you ask the cop all about his day, equipment, home life. Or do you just answer the simple yes / no question?
Keep going, Im looking forward to you showing your obtuseness.

You are asking for a mechanic, but you refuse to tell us what you need repaired.
No point in recommending a heavy diesel mechanic if you need a lawn mower fixed.

If you don’t want to tell us the details, that’s your business, but don’t act like we are dumb for asking specific questions in an attempt to help you.

"....All ya gotta do is..."
Guys that do this work, of which I am one, need details. There is a world of difference, and more labor cutting an existing 30-06 chamber to .300 Win Mag, than simply plunging a .223 reamer into an existing .222 and setting headspace. Most folks here assumed the OP wanted a rifle barrel altered. Some details were missing.

Quite surprised there wasn't an offer to pay with a six pack. Can it be done while I wait??
