Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of Dick's.
But while Bolitsky didn't come out and say it directly, it seems that Dick's' decision to cut down on its gun sales had an impact in other areas of its business. Gun owners and pro-gun consumers may not be ale to buy their guns from Dick's any longer, but they also seem to have made the conscious decision not to trust Dick's as an outfitter for any of their other needs — particularly their hunting needs.

Dick's has seen a decline in sales of its hunting gear overall — such a decline that they're considering removing hunting and outdoors equipment from all of their stores in order to boost their bottom line and cull some of their excess inventory.

"Months after Dick's Sporting Goods made the move to stop selling assault-style rifles, the company is now considering removing all hunting gear," a Texas ABC affiliate reported on Friday. "Dick's CEO Edward Stack revealed during a conference call that they removed all hunting gear from 10 stores as a test run."

and so it begins, the demise of a once profitable chain, whose investors will take the hit, along with employees who gambled on a future, all because one or several mgrs, decided what was best for society, yep, this kind of decision making sure works correctly every time, right, yeah right.
:naughty:

Hope they go under. Still how many here still buy from cheaper than dirt who threw us under the bus after a school shooting? How many still buy from Troy after the anti gun slime balls they hired?

That is the true shame of it all ... a TON of regular ol people who depended on a paycheck will now be out of work.

Guess corporate decision to do something for the Community was misplaced... they forgot about their own community. Bummer.

Maybe -- just maybe -- Dick's experience will serve as a warning to other companies who decide they want to inflict their irrational prejudice and hate on the public. Sometimes there is a cost to being a Social Justice Warrior.

Not always -- Nike is doing quite well with their Kaepernick Hate America campaign. But sometimes, the "virtue" signaling backfires.

Didn't take cheaper than dirt out or Troy Industries who both should be out of business over the bullshit they did. HS Precision is still here after Lon" I shot escaping Branch Dividians" and "I shot a mom holding a baby" Horiuchi was used in their ads, caused quite a stink but they still have customers. I still chop up HS Precision stocks when I get a rifle with one and send it to them.

Dicks is for all intents and purposes, a 2-story Sports Authority.

They mostly sell exercise clothes and golf clubs. Also some way, way overpriced mountain bikes. Their guns, ammo, and hunting stuff has mostly been an afterthought in a small corner upstairs. Note that Sports Authority already closed up their doors two years ago.

In the age of Walmart and Amazon, pissing off even a small percentage of your customer base is a great way to go into the red. These types of business live and die by volume.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. said Tuesday it will stop selling firearms at 125 of its stores, further pulling back from the business after the retailer decided last year to tighten its policies around gun sales.

Dick’s has struggled with declining sales since its CEO Ed Stack made a public decision to stop selling guns to buyers under 21 and take assault-style weapons out of all stores after a fatal school shooting in Parkland, Fla. Dick’s is also working to stem sluggish sales as more shoppers buy sporting goods online.

They can probably make more money selling Colin Kaepernick t-shirts.

Removing all hunting related items including firearms and replacing that "section" with items more sought after still ain't getting me to go there anyways
