See, the reporter is smiling. It's like he's happy to get his purple pen.

A bullet fragment struck a TV reporter at a shooting range during a campaign event on Tuesday for U.S. Senate candidate Lucas Kunce, who provided first aid to the journalist. Kunce, a Democrat, was at a private residence near Holt north of Kansas City with former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, an Illinois Republican, when a fragment appeared to have ricocheted off a target. Kunce was shooting an AR-15 at the time, and was the only person shooting when the injury occurred.

The reporter, KSHB-TV’s Ryan Gamboa, began bleeding from his arm. Kunce, who spent 13 years in the Marines, wrapped gauze and his belt around the reporter’s arm to help stop the bleeding. The wound was later wrapped with medical tape. Gamboa remained at the range and continued on his assignment.

Rifle on steel at 10 yards?

We'll be shooting carbines at Ben Avery this weekend. Their rule -- and ours -- thou shalt not shoot steel with carbines at less than 100 yards. Besides being dangerous as hell, it ruins the targets.

What a maroon.

Well,...since we can see Tannerite on the table,...I guess we should be thankful there weren't any ACTUAL rednecks present. Otherwise, everyone would have heard "Hey y'all, watch this," right before a whole lot of shrapnel flew at everybody.

• 100 yards is the minimum shooting distance when using standard rifle ammunition under 2,500 fps upon impact and less than 3000 ft/lb of energy upon impact.

Showed these pics to a friend who's a former EMT and he was blown away that they used a turnicate on such a minor wound. According to him, you're supposed to only apply a turnicate when you have major uncontrolled bleeding, otherwise you end up doing more damage than help.

I'm surprised a democrat had a first aid kit along on a shooting outing, obviously a campaign stunt, since press was brought along.

Shows much more sense than Tampon Timmy.

The belt was used to secure the gauze in place, not as a tourniquet. It was later replaced with tape.

Appears that the photo op organizer a Chad Everett Downs is currently on a felony bond with Missouri. One of the conditions is no access or possession of firearms. Hmmm, appears Demonrats can do as they want. $$ says that not a damn thing will be done about it
