Yeah the KEY takeaway is that President Trump bypassed the Congress and ordered the ATF to create a law banning bump stocks and unlike previously “banned” devices didn’t allow for a provision whereby owners could legally register them such as what happened when “Streetsweeper” shotguns were ruled as “destructive devices” by the ATF.

Granting the executive the right both to determine a criminal statute’s meaning and to enforce that same criminal statute poses a severe risk to individual liberty,

This covers a lot more than bumpstocks...

That case is working it's way through the appellate system. It's going to be heard en banc, and it will take a while...like a year or more.

It may not take it long at all. Another case gets before a Fed Judge and they shoot down the ban because of this precedence.
