I have just finished book #4 of Kurt Schlichter's 5-book "Kelly Turnbull" series set in post-split America -- the People's Republic of America, and the remaining United States of America. His map of the split looks remarkably similar to that one.

Big thumbs up; the books are great fun. Kelly Turnbull really likes killing people, so there is lots and lots of gunplay. But the best part is the remarkably prescient prognostication, like changing the names of schools from Thomas Jefferson to Che Guevara, and Fort Benning to Fort Clinton, etc. He is a very funny writer. The Prairie providences have been wanting to split for their own country for a long time. They want similar gun laws as ours and are independent, good natured people. I would welcome them happily.

Ask them the process on how a bill becomes a law then ask them to field strip and reassemble an AR-15.

Let Alaska declare their own independence if they want it and let them be.

Im for this, I do think the areas wouldn't be so clearly defined and would bleed over into current defined borders.

I used to know a couple from BC that lived here half the year, and they loved guns, freedom, and personal responsibility. I get the feeling that Canada is much like the US in that the rural areas breed this kind of culture while the bigger cities want a socialist utopia.

I lived in Alaska when it became a State and my Dad was one of the honchos of the Anti Statehood group. He and others warned that if it became a State, it would ruin Alaska in the long run and ran a campaign opposing Statehood.

So far, it looks like he was right.
