We had been in the same house for 34 years and as part of our move to AZ we had to clean out the garage and sheds.
Cleaning is always something we all tend to put off as it's such a pain but there were some of areas I hadn't seen for literally well over a decade.
Oil so old it had leached through the plastic bottles. Parts for cars we had traded or wrecked over 20 years ago. Multiples of tools that I had lost track of and bought another.
Wife surprised a large packrat that had made itself quite the condo in a wooden box shoved back under a shelf. Probably the first time he had ever seen a human. Don't know who was more surprised it or my wife. Got it in a trap that night though so problem solved.
Some old pre-Windows software such as Quarterdeck Expanded Memory Manager and the entire program (disks, manuals, box) for DESQview. Another oldie but goodie program found during clean out was a copy of Enable OA. Anybody remember any of those?
Tons of reformatted 3.5" floppies I got for free from AOL and other offers.
Manuals and books for DOS 3.0 to 5.0
Also tax returns going back to the mid 90s as well as monthly statements from credit cards and utilities that went back a decade.
Purchase receipts/owners manuals for things I had LOONG ago gotten rid of.
Baby clothes and car seat from my grandson...who is now 27yo, in the Army, married and with a child of his own.
Anybody else had the joy of discovery lately?
