But they’re on some fudd shit.
Someone posted a picture of the rules and they say you can’t bring your own targets. Just have to use the permanent steel hangers.
They shut down the entire road to any other shooting and made us wait more than two years for this garbage.
With the request for volunteer hall monitors I’m half expecting someone to jump out of the toilet stalls yelling at you for shooting more than one round per second.
BLM doing BLM things.

How long do you think the steel targets are going to last before someone (or a lot of people) shoots them into swiss cheese with steel core ammo? And then how long will it be before BLM replaces them? I'll take "1 week" and "never".

Can't really say I blame them for that.
If they let everyone bring their own targets , it would probably end up like any other trashed out shooting area.

They are only good with excessive amounts of tannerite.

Think you nailed it

Who's going to screen the ammo?

No need for fighting anyways...
We all know .45 is better than 9..............................................

ugly set up for sure, only one short pistol range to 50 yrds i believe, cramped shooting spaces, rules say no bringy yer own targets, although half the shooters did,
we were doing okay till some ass hole showed up and squatted down between us and started banging away, brass flying all over, and didn't heed the cold range, fondling his weapon, whilst was down range, not a fan of stupid, we managed to spend a few hours and then vacated, reasonably busy, but have to say, they sure screwed up a great shooting spot. i figure by spring they'll be micro managing it, or close it, the long range side at saddle mt is a joke, boys and gals oughta take a look and see for your self and share dissatisfaction with the blm folks, shame shame, wasted money on terrible facilities.

I will give an opinion and answer a question:

This is a true FUDFD range. If you take you one firearm out once a year, to see if you can hit an 8” target it is OK.

Don’t sight anything in, no targets have dots, squares, anything, bang steel OK,

The pistol range is small and the only one is on the church camp road site of the three sites.

There is a 700 yd target at saddle mountain road site, all rifle shooting no pistol ranges unless you want to shoot your 9mm 100 yds and more.

Baldy Mountain isn't open yet since they just discovered the amount fire fuel between the firing line and targets which they hope to clear by 11/1. No pistol range there either.

Other comment, use their targets, “If they let everyone bring their own targets, it would probably end up like any other trashed out shooting area.” No bitching here but not true. 2 ranges at church had people setting up their own targets. Saddle mountain with a minimum of 200yd range out to 700 had broken clay pigeons all over in front of the firing line and spent shotgun shells all over.

The space for pistol shooting is about 10% of all the space at the ranges and some of that is used by people using ARs at short range so let’s say 5% is for pistols. What is the percentage of pistols to rifle sales and use, make any sense?

We shoot machineguns and 50BMG, do you want to be next to us?????

OK, the good news, the FUDDS don’t reload and rarely pick up their brass, several hundred rounds of free 9mm once fired Winchester brass, and a few hundred 45acp, only good thing I found so far.

Is there alotnof steel at saddle mountain? By chance were you able to take any pics of it ? I appreciate the info guys. Thank you. Trying to go Sunday

No picture but there are, from my recollection, 6 steel targets 200-300-400-500 & 700 yds. Nothing for pistol unless you're really good.

for desert shooters, its a crappy deal for sure especially with blm closing down everything close ugh. i'm from the gubermint and here to help you, no one embraced i know of.

Went to saddle mountain Sunday morning. It’s a gated range that opened right at 7am. You have to walk your supply’s about 50 yards to a gravel platform with 5 10ft wide lanes basically.
18in gongs are are 200-300-400-500 and 700 yards
There are spots to shoot out to 1700 yards on rocks. Overall it’s nice but fills up fast
