Seeing these pop up on Gunbroker. Israeli company and the guns are pretty sharp looking. Seem very clean in the designs and fabrication but ... Anyone know anything more?

I've never owned any of their pistols, but I hear from friends based in Europe that Bul sells some decent stuff. All they really do is import from elsewhere, slap their logo on there after reaching a marketing agreement and sell it as theirs. Their gunsmithing section, however, has a sterling reputation within Israel itself.

For a while, Wilson was using Bul polymer widebody 1911 frames to make their own complete pistol. But eventually that relationship ended.

I saw some of the commander and government sized 1911's on gun broker. Like I said .. really clean execution and not prohibitively priced.

I had a "Desert Eagle 1911" which at the time was made by Bul.
It was a great shooting, great quality gun. I was very happy with it.

Bul from Israel has been around forever making many types of weapons. Their venture into the 1911 world, especially the compact versions, has been erratic. The few I've actually held seemed solid, but heavy for their size. My barber, originally from the eastern bloc has carried a Bul officer for many years and wouldn't trade it for a Wilson.

I've got a fair number of double-stack 1911s (2011s) and it's going to be a Bul that I buy next. Know a couple of guys who own one and speak highly of them. And for the price, well, compared to STI they are damn near giving them away for the upgrades that come standard on them.

I have several from israel, nice shooters, accurate, they have a nice place in my stable, and are shot occassionaly, hard to take all the kids shooting regularly. It would be a reasonably nice addition to any group of stable mates.

I handled a 1911 style one once. Picked it up and thought, wow, this is nice. Nicely finished, tight tolerances, felt very solid if a little heavy. Looked on the side and saw BUL, never heard of them. Checked online later and saw prices were good and most everyone spoke very well of them. Don't know of anyone personally that has, or fired, one.
