NOT SO FAST KEVIN

Although seems unlikely, maintaining and increasing pressure would be a whole lot better thatn just giving into another Kalifornicator RINO.

As president of the AZ senate, Biggs refused to bring up a vote on whether AZ should participate in the Convention of States even though it was very popular among state senators. The Convention of States would seek to limit the power of the federal govt, limit federal spending, amend the process in which bills are passed in order to give constituents more time to weigh in, term limits for elected officials as well as Supreme Court justices. It also allow the overturning of Supreme Court decisions with 2/3 votes of all the states. As soon as Biggs went to congress, a vote was held by the new president of the state senate and the measure passed overwhelmingly. So far I believe 20 states have voted in favor of a Convention of States.

Biggs is not the conservative he touts to be.

The USA had a Convention of States to improve the Articles of Confederation, our original constitution.
What happened? The Articles of Confederation were completely thrown out and we were given our current US Constitution. We got lucky and great, educated men wrote an incredible document.
Fast forward to today. Think of the average politician of today. Why would anyone really want to risk losing our Constitution to a bunch of these jokers?
Lose free speech? Lose the 2nd? I would never trust these people to do the right thing.
I think Biggs made the right decision in stopping the Convention of States bill.
Biggs has represented us well, and even though I believe he's too honest to get elected speaker, I do believe he would do a great job if he was.

TRUMP PERHAPS?

From Wikipedia:
The Constitution does not require the speaker to be an incumbent member of the House of Representatives, although every speaker thus far has been.[5][6] The speaker is second in the United States presidential line of succession, after the vice president and ahead of the president pro tempore of the Senate

From One America News Network:
On Capitol Hill Thursday, Gaetz (R-Fla.) voted for Trump in the seventh ballot in the election for House Speaker.

The Republican, an avid supporter of the 45th President, is one of 20 GOP lawmakers who have continued to split with the rest of the Republican Party and refuses to support House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) in his bid to become Speaker.

The action was taken in response to a Wednesday night comment made by Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), a member of the anti-McCarthy group, that she could propose Trump for the position.

Need to do more research. The Convention of States is granted in the Constitution under Article V. It is not a threat to the Constitution or the Bill of Rights, a line often used by its detractors and the establishment types. Why wasn't it put up for debate on the senate floor? If it was the threat you purport it to be, it would have failed.

All these items; "limit the power of the federal govt, limit federal spending, amend the process in which bills are passed in order to give constituents more time to weigh in, term limits for elected officials as well as Supreme Court justices. It also allow the overturning of Supreme Court decisions with 2/3 votes of all the states" can be addressed via legislation or Constitutional amendments, sorry, but I don't trust them to do the right thing and some of the items above are stupid.

Mike, a constitutional convention opens up every single word in our constitution and its amendments to amending as well as proposals for new amendments. Do you trust our current crop of political hacks to do right by the spirit of our founding?

Please do more reading on the Convention of States, it is not a Constitutional Convention and does not pose a threat to the Constitution. How could it if it is born from the Constitution? If anyone thinks Washington will fix Washington, you are greatly misled. Only the state legislatures can fix the swamp and that is where the Convention of States comes in. Our founders were geniuses and could foresee the tyranny we are seeing today and enshrined a process to rectify this.
