Officials say on Thursday, a group of rafters was camped on the edge of the river when a mountain lion approached the group and attacked the man.
According to reports, the rafters used their paddles to try and fight off the mountain lion. Eventually, the lion was kept at bay and the group used their rafts to get to safety.

First Rule of Paddle Fighting -- HAVE A GUN!
"Allow"? Allow got nothing to do with it. What they don't know won't hurt 'em.nimrag said:smithers599 said:nimrag said:Officials say on Thursday, a group of rafters was camped on the edge of the river when a mountain lion approached the group and attacked the man.

That’s kinda what I was thinking. Maybe it was a rafting business/guide, that doesn’t allow people to bring a gun.

Drop leg holster or adapter is what you want. It's not so low that you have to have a leg strap but just low enough to clear pack hip belt. If you have a pack with moly webbing, you can also get holsters that attach to that directlysmithers599 said:When I hike, I carry a Ruger LC9 in a pocket holster (because a backpack obviates a belt holster). This makes me think maybe I should OC a .357 or .44 Mag in a leg holster.
What do you carry (and how) when hiking with a backpack?
