People are today (mistakenly) memorializing Jim Larkin, co-founder of NEW TIMES, who committed suicide on the eve of his upcoming trial for his role in running NEW TIMES' "Backpage" classifieds marketplace. They are focusing on his strategic use of the 1st Amendment to shield and obfuscate his socialist agitation core mission in life to sabotage capitalism, and misinterpreting his hostility to liberty as a virtue it never was. At his core, he endeavored to make you all less free and further enslaved to the state. What little work he did in the fight for free speech was never altruistic, and entirely a screen for his darker agenda. Yes, the case against him over Backpage was always bullschit. But no, he was never a hero of any sort. And I anxiously await his cohort Lacey to join him in the abyss. No one will miss you, Larkin. Good riddance.
