So now for every vehicle we get to pay $32.00 to fund the highway patrol that's funded through other taxes. We already pay enough on vehicle registration so lets just f*** them some more. I am wondering what they are going to tax to pay for the damn entitled school teachers raises, probably my damn house.

Also getting sick of the multiple layers of government. City, county and state lets just charge us 3 times for the same damn services. How about we just do county government that answers to the elected state officials. Cities are run by the counties they are located in. Getting damned ridiculous.

WTF then what do they do with the other tax money? The bill said the increase would fund 110% of their budget.

The dumb voters get duped every election to keep voting for these propositions and whatnot to increase taxes. I don't get it. Our forefathers raised hell over a tiny tax on TEA!!!

What a crock of s***... I just got under the wire for this year- reg due Dec 15th! looks like I will have to sell a vehicle before next year.
I don't remember any ballot issue asking me to approve a new tax- I always vote NO on that crap anyways...how'd that get thru???

None of you remember Red for Ed?

They took money marked for DPS to give to schools. This is to return funding to DPS.

Wait for Red for Ed 2.0. They already said they are doing it again as what they got last year was “barely anything”.

It's not a "tax" - it's a "fee" and we didn't vote it in. It's how they intend to pay teachers more. This will free up funds from other budgets that were being used for Highway Patrol, so they can then use those for paying teachers more.

Despite the obvious, what really sucks is for those of us who choose to drive older cars (mine are both over 12 years old), it almost doubles my registration cost for my vehicles.

If the economy weren't roaring, people would be putting up more of a stink. IMO, we should all be contacting our representatives to complain about this. Very dangerous that they can now arbitrarily raise this anytime they want without any vote.

Start bitchen to the state congress about all of the out of state plates on the roads here. I see at least 20 a day on the freeway during rush hour.
My brother moved to Nevada 10 years ago, driving a car licensed in Az. He was told that if he wanted a job there, he had to get his car licensed in Nevada. Call about cars in your neighborhood or apartment complex.

This more than triples the registration cost for both my vehicles (both 94's).

I remember the red for ed shit. A friends wife was bitching about this yesterday and I said it's your f***ing fault, you are a teacher and you are to blame. Communist democrat cuntmuscle she is. Tired of people who think they are entitled to a large paycheck even if their career is not a high paying one.

Which is why my second post. How many damned levels do we have structured within the education system in this state? School district, city education department, county dept as well as state. That's where all the f***ing money is, the 6 figure administrators that have never made a God Damned thing in their useless existence of a life are sucking the system dry while the teachers suck hind tit.

Arizona is already out of their damn minds with what they charge to register a vehicle. No wonder people register their expensive cars in New Mexico.

City of Phoenix wanted us to vote in sales tax on doctors/veterinarian and it got voted down.

Given the opportunity to vote on propositions that raise taxes, should be an automatic NO vote for all of us but, when it comes to schools especially but also public service, just enough people get soft and vote yes. It's for the kids....don't you know.

But arbitrary increases of fees such as motor vehicle registration, should be on the ballot. But that is not how our government works for most every increase in fees for government "services". That way they are not a tax. It's a service.

There in lies the problem "Uninformed Voters". Just think what is coming next year. Red for Ed's proposition to change the states Constitution and Increase Taxes for almost FOREVER, was shot down by the AZ Supreme Court (because they were stupid an didn't fully explain that taxation when collecting signatures). Next year they won't be that stupid. Every teacher signed it (Why not I would too), and it will just be as easy to get the rest of the signatures like they did this year and get it on the ballot for next year.

I've watch them and the kids wearing their REDforED RED tee Shirts at the school down the street. We "Educated Voters" are really SCREWED ! If you think the Lic tax is bad, get prepared for next year.

If the teachers aren't careful, a lot of their tax base just might up and move where they don't have to pay for schools if it gets bad enough.

School tax increases almost always pass because non property owners vote yes. To them, no big deal. Property taxes going up doesn't matter if you don't own property.

I am a landlord. If my costs go up, so does your f.....g rent. We do need informed voters.

with what ive seen if the teachers keep teaching socialism in class.then they dont deserve a dime.what they teach now is a joke.there just bad baby sitters.

It's over a 100% increase on my truck and close to a 100% increase on Mrs. Flash's truck.

One of the biggest proponents of the last override and bond issue was a renter a block away.

She, her husband and kid had to move after the landlord increased their rent to cover the increased cost to him.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
