NRA's USA Shooting just posted an article about the NRA HighPower Rifle National Championships at Camp Atterbury IN.
https://www.ssusa.org/articles/2021/10/19/nra-national-matches-2021-high-power-rifle-championships-at-camp-atterbury

These are mostly mid to long range, 600 to 1000yd. (as opposed to the short to mid range 200-300-600yd Service Rifle championships run by CMP at Camp Perry).

Central Arizona has some of the best mid-range and long range shooting and shooters in the country. We have 500 yds at both clubs (PRGC & Rio Salado) once a month and 600yd & 1000yd and occasionally 800 & 900 yd at Ben Avery almost every week. Tucson also has 600 & 1000 yds.

This shooting has divisions for both prone with a sling and iron sights and F-class which is prone using huge scopes and benchrest style rifle stands or bipods.

Having some of the best shooters and shooting really shows with all the AZ residents mentioned & photographed in that article!
F-class: Matthew Schwartekopf of Waddell, Az
Mid/Long-range: Oliver Milanovic of Gilbert, Ariz.
Long-range: Jeffrey Miles from Phoenix, Ariz

additionally, Prescott's Mid Tompkins who has for about half a century been a competitor and now match director at Camp Perry, Camp Atterbury, Whittington Center, Ben Avery and more, appears in several photos in the sitting position.

Shooting Sports USA https://www.ssusa.org/ is NRA's monthly digital magazine about competition shooting. I thought it was free to members, but the sign up website does not ask for membership number so maybe its open to everyone. https://www.ssusa.org/sign-up-for-updates . Of course everyone who reads this is already an NRA member, right? and ASRPA and AZCDL too, right?
