Whenever this get resolved or you give up on finding the owner,...I'd like to hear the story. Where do you just find one laying around?

I've come across magazines people have dropped or forgotten, and steel targets folks forgot to pack up. But I ain't never found a gun.

I lost a spotting scope at PRGC a few months ago. One min it was there and the next it walked off.

Silk tripod and redfield scope is anyone ever admits to stealing it….finding it right where I left it.

Not me.
I left a really nice NM .45 on the bench at Phoenix Rod and Gun Club many years ago. Didn't even unpack my shooting box, so I didn't even know I had left it. I got a phone call from the PRGC rangemaster. Another shooter had found it and turned it in. The rangemaster checked the sign-in sheet and went down the list calling people until he got to me. I described it, then went in and picked it up. For the most part, shooters are decent people.

I'm already a merciless dick so I won't mention that a question mark (?) is traditionally used when asking a question.

:?:

Ok , the gun is gone.
I have no idea who owned it,
I ended up giving it to the Sheriffs department.

I was going to work.
I took an exit off the highway and I saw one of those cheap plastic pistol cases laying against the curb.
It was popped open and I saw the egg crate foam inside and knew it was a gun case.
I turned around and picked it up.
Sure enough there was a pistol in it.
I picked it up and headed to work.
I opened the case and saw hit was a Keltec pistol.
I almost threw it back out the window , but figured if I did I would get a ticket for littering , so I took it home.
Anyway , if you want it , go see the Sherriff.
