Join East Valley 2A & Shooting Enthusiasts https://nextdoor.com/g/0k3sawvky/ to meet some locals! It's a closed group because the antis already torpedoed it once, so PM me here for the fast-track approval :-)

Thing with nextdoor if you lost your pet or want your neighbors old sofa for sale easy peasy good site, if you go there be aware should you stray outside the groups the general discussions are amazing I am down to amusement with that place. I am feet in stone independent so listen to all, even when I strongly disagree, here and there. They have these black white opinions and for the most part live in an echo chamber of comfy ideas. I read em and they all sorta suck it is what it is.

My understanding is that Nextdoor is affiliated with Facebook, note the identical format.

I left Facebook all together because of their continued limitations on conservative views.
Also, call me paranoid but I am concerned with Facebook, Nextdoor and any other affiliates who have a list of shooters.

Plus you never know what your neighbors political affiliation is. I have neighbors which report if I have left an auto on the street overnight and parking on the gravel at the end of my drive way. What do you think would happen with these wonderful folks if believing their convoluted ideology they decided that you were a threat to the neighborhood and decided report you for having explosives (reloading powder & primers) not to mention a large amount of ammunition & guns?

So I am sorry, I cannot look for shooting buddies on Nextdoor & I really do need a shooting buddy so will have to find one elseware.

Hey Marty. I have no idea if Nextdoor is or is not owned by Fakebook. You are right in that expressing an unpermitted opinion there will result in consequences. But that's why our group is private, and we ask vetting questions of those who ask to join.

If you can't see your way clear to join, maybe try ar15.com? There's a decent amount of participation in the AZ Hometown forum. Sake with Glocktalk. I'm sure there may be other sites, too. Ultimately, every word we type into our computers I assume is being monitored, recorded, analyzed, etc. But short of just hanging out at gun stores or ranges (where you may run into a variety of cops or federal agents, especially if someone tries to strike up a "spicy" conversation!), I don't know how else you'd connect with the community.

It's a sad thing the world has become :-(

I tried nextdoor for a few minutes, saw what it was, left an opinion about #Redfored being run by a Communist and went on my merry way, never to return.

Nextdoor will certainly get posts reported and pulled, yet I think the users must gripe first. It remains one of my chief sources of amusement. I see people getting into vicious mask cdc link wars, then it will be closed because some one was offended and reported it. I for one enjoy hearing the crazy stuff going around there and the net both, like a live action Idiocracy movie (must see comedy). There are private gun groups and groups of every ilk, no time for anything but the newsfeed. Looking for new pet its a good resource. For the most part a closed echo chamber like here where each group has their favorites, discussion only lasts until offense is taken or attack made, we see it here also.

jnjor, thank you for your response.

Sorry but I have become so paranoid since January.

I know that one's private information is no longer private which is a great travesty!

I visit AR15.com off an on reading posts which come up on my searches for 223/5.56 ammo reloading. I do not have an AR platform rifle, which doesn't matter, I do have a Ruger Mini 14, 223/5.56. And; I will consider joining.

Again thank you for your response to my post!

Marty
