Anyone ever loaded with MP190 powder from Midwest Powders? Got data?

American Reloading has some powder in stock at decent prices,...but I've never heard of it and wonder how useful it is compared to the stuff I'm used to.

For instance, they give a bit of teaser data for 9mm; 115 grn. projectile over 5.6 grains of powder for a sedate velocity of 1060fps. But I'm looking to load for heavier bullets such as 147 or 165 grn. for use with suppressors. I can work up loads on my own, but I'd love to cut some R&D time with a starting point.

Anyone have any data on this powder?

I did a search on Cast Boolits, because those guys know everything, but came up with very little. Consensus out there seems to be that it's powder from disassembled ammo.

Most ammo companies use ball powder and the photo of what I saw shown as MP-190 is a flake powder that looks similar to Hodgen clays. Just because this company is selling it, it is not safe to assume it is from pull down, they have resources and during the Sandy Hook fiasco they hooked me up with the source of the CSB powder and I bought a boat load of it, still loading it today

The sample I saw of this powder looked similar to this photo which is CSB-5 made by Maxim in Spain. It burns similar to 700x, Clays and international clays. It is a very clean burning powder if it is in fact CSB-5. Rio Shotshells is a division of Maxim and they use the CSB powders in their shotshells. American Reloading acquired some rail cars of the CSB-1 and CSB_ 5 powders. They bought up a bunch of jugs and started selling it as the name it is made under. Maxim wasn't too happy about it and the second batch was sold as Commercial #5 to absolve them from liability.

So if this is in fact a maxim powder you could work with clays or 700x as a starting point for data on the low end and work your way up to desired velocity. I would work around 3 grains for the 147 weight, up to 4.2 or so for a 124 and around the 5 mark for a 115 on the max end to start with.

If you don't have a chronograph get with a friend who has one and use it.
