It's just as well. They are partnering with Google to turn all future Ford products into data-mining snitch products that will spy on you at all times.

Phuk em'!

That isn't new. The majority of manufacturers are doing such things today. Android Auto, Apple Carplay, etc. Those insurance OBD2 dongles that parade a discount for monitoring? You bet they are selling off where you go, and how you get there.

As the fantastic old move "Hackers" said in 1996 (man, Angelina Jolie was hot back then....)

You could sit at home, and do like absolutely nothing, and your name goes through like 17 computers a day. 1984? Yeah right, man. That's a typo. Orwell is here now.

Today though - it is thousands upon thousands a day,

Debit/credit cars
Cell phones / apps (Games, dating sites, operating systems, browsers, etc)
Computers / apps (windows, for example calls it "telemetry" lol)
Discount / membership cards (Costco, Sportsmans, etc)
Web connected appliances (Security cams, fridges, alarms, etc)
Service providers (Internet, E-mail, Hosting, etc)
Gaming platforms (Xbox, Playstations, Steam, Epic, etc)
Free wifi at the starbucks/applebees, etc? They are harvesting your browsing habits and selling it off to someone. Why else do you think they have a user agreement?

The list goes on and on and on. Basically anything connected anywhere that provides a "modern life" is scraping, harvesting, and selling data.

Even if you are using a service that doesn't collect data you better believe if it is publicly accessible there is a company somewhere scraping that data. For example, if this website says it doesn't sell data - since these posts are visible on the interwebs - there are probably thousands of company scraping the data and using software programs connecting the dots to sell the data to someone.

You can't escape it if you tried. To live any resemblance of a "modern life" there are going to be databases with you and your habits, usage, purchases, etc in it. I always laugh at people who claim to be off-grid and say they are immune to any of this. There isn't and off-grid enough to circumvent it.

To say you aren't buy a product because of something like this is silly because I guarantee you already own/use several that do. I mean you did use a computer/phone browser/app to make your post right?

Figured most had a plant or two in Mexico. Ford is just screwing avon ohio. Still make lots of their own cars in America across brands (maybe). I think my honda was made in Japan once all subsequent ones (several) came from Canada may have even been assembled here I dunno. Not a brand loyalist just buy the most reliable at my price point and done. For me that is Honda if I could live with those gas bills (I can't) buying an F 150 would be done deal by dark.

The first character of the VIN on your car will tell you where it's made.

1= USA
2=Canada
3=Mexico
J=Japan

If you bought new, the window sticker will tell you where the majority of the components came from.

Usually a decal under the hood that shows it too. Guy I know swore his Chevy Silverado was “American” made. Decal said Made in Mexico.

Lotsa reasons for move, one is the labor costs, but the real biggy is the new teeth the epa got and osha got a big bump, so you can expect the plants to have big issues, especially the hybrids, the batteries and disposal of such things is a huge no on in the USA.

oh well, unions, voted the idiot in, most of industry has moved because the wanna save the world that cost jobs, expansion money and tooling money to meet assinine rules.
of course jmo
