I posted this on another board when I first made it so some of you guys have already seen it but I just did another deal with the person who ordered it and he reports that after a year of use his boy is still using in in CAS and it is holding up well so I thought I would post it here since its a little different and it is gun content. I dont do many custom orders anymore but I take some projects that I think will be fun.

I wont mention the purchasers name but have done some 5 or 6 deals on stuff over the years and he is GOOD TO GO!

So here is the story behind this one. A father is buying this for his boy who does CAS. He tells me the boy loves the game Fallout and while I know most of you dont have a clue what that is it is video game where a guy wanders around in the post apocalypse meeting people, killing many of them and collecting stuff.

Dad and I agreed to go full on steam punk but then he showed his boy my site and if memory served he liked this one.

So dad gives me just two criteria.. he wanted the coloring to look oldish and that it needed to include the boys initials. Thats it.

People will often get my best work if they leave most of the details to me and I love gigs where I am given some room

So I got away from steam punk in my head even though I am still dying to do something full on steam punk but I wanted to keep a tiny bit of the post apocalypse "fallout" thing going. In the game as you might do in real life you spend a good deal of time collecting junk.

I liked the idea of the initials in what looked like an old necklace like it had been a found object in the wasteland or his grandmother had given it to him as a child and the chain was long gone but he wanted to keep the item for good luck ... you know, for all those gun fights!

So I left the ring on the necklace part to show it was a necklace part only with the chain removed.

I used bronze studs on the skirt which felt kind of like rivets and steel studs on the body and I just had to get those 2 screws in there which are brass. Did some creative stuff with dyes and an airbrush and its all hand stitched up with a natural colored thread that looks kind of like sinew.

For those interested in such things I took a shot of the welt. I wanted to make it a reasonable fast draw so it is double layer and I used a double tapering welt so its got a fair amount of room at the cylinder and trigger guard. Of course all the edges are burnished but I never use edgecoat.

I "think" it retained some of that "fallout" feel with the mixed metals and dye but still looks handsome and well made and I am thrilled that after a year of hard use .. it is reported to be holding up well.

yes, and its is a beauty, its my dress up carry, lol, i just got a kydex holster from taurus for a carry, and frankly i'm struggling with it iwb, so probably go back to what i like, leather, and i have something special hopefully arriving in some time far away it seems, it will have to have a special carry holster also.
happy sunday, enjoyed the piece, now get back to work your bench has to be overflowing

So this is my little effort at peer pressure that Mr. Boriqua should open up a pro holster business with some apprentice folks under him...my son loves his holster! Fast shot of kids doing what they do before shoots and check out this other rig he did for my wife.

A lot of talent...

Alex's work is top notch!

He did this shoulder/messenger bag for my GF. I gave him a loose idea of what I wanted. He nailed.

Very nice Alex...

Alex, in my opinion, is the best there is... I came to him with an idea for my scoped Redhawk & he ran with it. I was looking for a hunting holster but did not want a cross draw hanging over my gut... I didn't want anything fancy, just practical... He delivered... Thanks Alex...
