6.8 SPC

I was reading an article the other day about the U.S. Army adopting the 6.8 SPC. Is this official and does anyone know if they are going to use this as their standard round, replacing the 5.56.

That is an old story that died years ago.
The only Army that I know that purchased 6.8spc guns and ammo was the country of Jordan's.
