Claims from users on the anonymous message board 4Chan went viral on Saturday evening, as people said they discovered a way that ballots can be cancelled online in Washington — and that an Oregon voter’s registration can be changed, using just the voter’s name and date of birth.

The claims were that they uncovered a vulnerability that could make way for large scale systemic voter fraud.

Their exploit allegedly worked to change registration for voters who are in the military, overseas or disabled.

I'm not at all surprised. Generally speaking, the most competent people don't work for the public sector, so they don't do the code right and leave the system wide open.

One would think that with all the secure technology, VPN's encryption, block chains, etc... that each citizen could be issued a unique, secure, encrypted, voting ID# (used only for voting) and then they could vote via home computer or voting machine at a local precinct.

But I suppose that is too simple or secure for consideration...
