Facebook DOES NOT allow gun sales on there,...so this will disappear very quickly. But I found it unexpectedly,...so here is the evidence it even existed at all. (Probably removed from Facebook Marketplace by the time you read this.)

I questioned a friend if this was "the" J D Jones, and he confirmed it is, indeed, J D Jones. JD's getting older, and like many of us, disposing of our "toys" while we can still watch somebody else's eyes light up when they grab it. Good folks up there!

"J.D. Jones" or "J.R. Jones", I talked to J.D. Jones, a lot, while I was deciding on custom TC barrels and a frame. He was in Ohio if I recall correctly.

Same guy or different?

Same guy, moved to Prescott a while back. Hangs out with Rob Leahy from Simply Rugged leather and shoots a lot at Gunsite.

From the picture, looks like a different guy and JD would be a pretty old fart by now, age 88. If it is him I'd run up to Prescott just to see him and say hello.

Saw that but for 40k a transferable would be a better buy. There was one up here on back page years back for 5k.

Group Buy?

I like his thinking, we could each get a barrel with our name on it!!

Have everyone form a little U.S. Cavalry re-enactment troop around this item. Show up at events and fire off some blanks while doing some cosplay. Write off the expense as "educational charity".

That's very cool! On the other hand - if I had a spare $40K laying around in my "toy" budget" I'd keep saving for a bit and look for a transferrable M-60... but that's just me...

EDIT: the more I think about it... when it comes to "smiles per dollar" the smarter play would probably be a transferrable M10 or UZI in the $10K - $15K range - and $30K in pistol ammo... :-)

Naaawww. Even cheaper would be an FRT and a 9mm AR-style pistol. Under $2000 and you're good to start burning through ammo.

Have a hard time arguing with your logic... I don't remember where the FRT sits with regards to the gubbermunt... although I'd like to think that whatever the anti-gun ATF was doing about it a few weeks ago will soon go the way of the dodo...
